What should my child read? An age-wise guide for Indian parents
Start with your child's age, then follow what they love. Toddlers need sturdy board books full of rhythm and colour, pre-schoolers love picture books about feelings and festivals, early readers race through short, funny chapter books and comics, and older children want bigger worlds and harder questions. Below are the books Bukmuk families borrow most at each stage.

What 62 families taught us about reading 100 books in a year
In 2025, 62 Bukmuk families read more than 100 books each. We asked them what changed. Of the 31 who replied, every parent said their child loves reading more, and 84% said screen time went down without any ban. Access to the right books, freedom to choose and plenty of variety made the difference.

Bukmuk Reading Challenge 2026: how to join and log books
The Bukmuk Reading Challenge 2026 runs until 31 December 2026. Sign up on the challenge portal with the same email as your Bukmuk membership, log each book your child finishes, and reach 50, 100 or 150 Bukmuk books for a certificate. Only books borrowed from Bukmuk count towards milestones and the leaderboard.
